IS YOUR DATA SECURE?

IT security has fast become one of the most important aspects of data protection for many companies. However, one area that is often ignored is the protection of BACS data after it has been exported from your database/payroll system and before it is submitted to BACS, through iConnect.

No matter how tight the security surrounding your application is, once data has been exported to a plain text file, it can be open to a security breach, whilst sitting on your internal network.

If you export your BACS data to an unencrypted file prior to sending it to BACS, it may be opened and viewed in any text editor (such as Notepad).

More alarmingly, the data could be fraudulently edited prior to uploading to iConnect.

Validation and modulus checks are still completed on all individual transactions.
